The worldwide market for fleet maintenance systems will decline this year but is expected to strongly rebound in 2011, according to a new ARC Advisory Group study, Fleet Maintenance System Worldwide Outlook: Market Analysis and Forecast Through 2014.
"The economic downturn obviously impacted the fleet maintenance system market, says report author Steve Banker, ARC service director. "However, over a five-year forecast horizon, an economic downturn is not all bad news, particularly for suppliers offering solutions with a quick payback period. Current business conditions cause firms to reduce operating costs and capital expenditures. Maintenance departments are among those being told to lower their operating costs. At the same time, capital improvement projects are delayed and maintenance needs increase with aging fleets."
The transportation fleets covered in the study include fleets capable of traveling over roads - cars, trucks, buses, service vehicles, and even construction equipment. This study specifically excludes fleets of planes or trains.
