Evergreen Line is re-introducing a 20-port pendulum service, linking the U.S. West Coast, Asia and Mediterranean trade. It will range from Tacoma, Wash. to Valencia, Spain via the Far East, Middle East and Suez Canal. Slated to begin on May 10 out of Kaohsiung, Taiwan, the new U.S. West Coast-Asia-Mediterranean (UAM) service will replace Evergreen's current Asia-Pacific-North West Coast (PNW) and Far East-Mediterranean (FEM) services, introduced last October as an interim measure. The UAM service will utilize 14 U-type vessels, each of 5,364 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs). First vessel to depart will be the Ever Unison from Kaohsiung. The first sailing from the Port of Tacoma will be May 23. The port rotation will be Tacoma, Vancouver, Tokyo, Osaka, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Yantian, Tanjun Pelepas, Colombo, Ashdod, Alexandria, Taranto, Genoa, Barcelona, Valencia, Taranto, Colombo, Tanjung Pelepas, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Yantian, Shanghai, Ningbo and Tacoma.
