The new agreement — reached over strong objections from some victims’ families — still needs to be approved by U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor.

Unlike the initial deal proposed by the DOJ in 2024, the new pretrial resolution that's now under consideration wouldn't require Boeing to plead guilty.

The deal would be a relief to a £40 billion ($53 billion) sector, which supports 450,000 jobs in the U.K.

The U.S. Government Accountability Office warned last year that 76% of the agency’s air traffic control systems were either unsustainable or potentially unsustainable.

The aviation industry is scrambling to adjust to new fees filtering through an aerospace supply chain that’s been shielded from tariffs for decades.

Since a January 2024 accident, when a door plug blew out midair, Boeing must receive approval from the FAA to increase output.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement has arrested tens of thousands of people living in the U.S. without legal status since January, when Trump took office.

Most companies said bringing back supply chains within the U.S. could as much as double their costs, and it would be more cost-effective to relocate them to lower-tariffed countries.

Even balanced against elevated levels earlier this year, total 2025 cargo volume could show a net decline of 15% or more unless the situation with tariffs changes.

If anything, Trump's delay in some of his tariff plans is extending the uncertainty that has already begun to drag on business and consumer sentiment.
