Growth of healthy snacks rose by 7 percent in 2014-2015 compared to "conventional" snacks, which only increased by 5 percent, according to research from Euromonitor International entitled No Sugar, Please: How Snacks Are Being Redefined.
Halal and vegan labels are set to grow by a compound annual rate of over 5 percent between 2015 and 2020, translating into $13bn and 708 million additional sales, respectively, according to Euromonitor International, which has just launched its Ethical Labels database.

More than half of global sales of these products are coming from China, followed by France, Japan and Turkey.
By 2019, retail sales from all channels are expected to hit $19.6tr, according to market research company Euromonitor International, and beginning five years from now as much as a third of new retail sales will come from China.
