Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. has relocated its St. Louis, MO service center to a new facility. The 98-door terminal in nearby St. Charles employs a staff of more than 140. According to the carrier, it will allow for the more efficient handling of shipments across the dock, as well as boost the level of service to customers in the St. Louis area. In another company announcement, Old Dominion has opened a new container drayage site in Memphis, Tenn. The operation will serve all railheads in the Memphis area, offering pickup and delivery to any point in the continental U.S. The carrier's menu of container drayage services includes direct, point-to-point delivery; loading; unloading; short-term warehousing and container pools. Old Dominion offers container drayage from 10 cities, and expects to open additional locations in the future.
