Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. has opened a container drayage site to serve all ports and containeryards in the Baltimore, MD area. The new operation, the third new drayage facility opened by Old Dominion this year, will offer pickup and delivery to any point in the continental U.S. It complements the company's services in its existing Baltimore Service Center, allowing shippers to access manufacturing areas in the Midwest. Old Dominion's container-drayage services include direct and point-to-point delivery, loading, unloading, short-term warehousing and container pools for import and export shippers. Old Dominion offers direct services from 12 cities in addition to Baltimore: Atlanta; Chicago; Los Angeles; Memphis, Tenn.; Mobile, Ala.; Norfolk, Va.; Wilmington, N.C.; Charlotte, N.C.; Charleston, S.C.; Savannah, Ga.; Huntsville, Ala. and Jacksonville, Fla. Old Dominion is a national less-than-truckload carrier providing one- to five-day service among six regions in the U.S., and next- and second-day service within those regions.
