Cognex Corp. has introduced a new machine-vision system, featuring the In-Sight 7000 smart camera. According to the vendor, the product allows for faster image capture, can directly power and control a range of external lighting, and contains enough input/output capacity for virtually any inspection scenario. Contained in a compact, industrial IP67 package, the device offers a maximum of more than 100 image captures per second, making it suitable for inspection of products on the fastest bottling and pharmaceutical production lines. Additional features include Cognex Connect, offering a wide range of built-in communication protocols which interface directly with the vision system. The In-Sight 7000 includes built-in Ethernet, RS-232 serial and multiple discrete I/Os. The system can communicate directly to virtually any PLC or robot controller, or manage multiple smart cameras remotely from a networked PC or HMI.
