Voxware Inc., a supplier of software for voice-driven warehousing operations, says that Eastern Bag & Paper Group has deployed its software at its Connecticut facility on wireless mobile computers and has seen an immediate reduction in picking errors.
"We were up and running at 100 percent of standard within four weeks, and started to see a reduction in our errors," says Pat Haray, warehouse manager at Eastern Bag.
Eastern Bag & Paper Group supplies janitorial and non-food foodservice items to 9 states in the Northeast and New England regions. Its full line of products includes tabletop disposables and small wares, packaging of all types, decorations, party supplies, cleaning solutions, and even kitchen equipment.
"Voxware delivered a solution that has increased our order picking accuracy and reduced the time required for each warehouse worker to pick their orders," says Jack Jurkowski, Eastern Bag's CIO. "An added bonus is that Voxware's multiple language capability allows the worker to perform all aspects of their job using the language with which they are most comfortable. From the IT perspective, Voxware interfaced easily with our enterprise IBM I-series based application, requiring a minimum of implementation time."
