Cargo 2000 now has more than 80 members representing the airline, freight forwarding, ground handling, road transport, information technology and airport sectors. Together they are working to improve the quality of air-cargo service through implementation of Cargo 2000's Master Operating Plan. The document sets out an industry-standard process for moving goods from the shipper's door to that of the consignee, aided by shipment-planning and measurement systems which proactively monitor progress and alert operators to deviations from the plan. The program also generates the data needed to drive the quality-management process. Damco has some 10,500 employees in more than 300 offices across 90 countries, with representation in an additional 30. In 2011, the company oversaw the movement of 2.5 million twenty-foot equivalent units of ocean freight, and air-freighted more than 110,000 tons.
