Solution: By utilizing Manhattan services, our unique What-If analysis tool and then applying changes to the network, the customer was able to quantify the cost impact of varying business rules; either tightening or relaxing the given constraints, while generating optimal static routes to service the stores.
Results: Adhering to business constraints, we demonstrated an 8% reduction in miles, a 9% reduction in number of shipments, and a more than 70% reduction in dynamically planned orders. Once results are validated, the customer expects to implement the new static routes to realize the calculated savings, and improve service levels to their stores.
