Blue Sky Logistics, Inc. has developed a beta version of its "perfect order" application for the company's dashboard visibility software. Perfect Orders will allow users of Blue Sky's visibility technology to calculate, track, measure and perform root-cause analysis of shipment performance. It will also permit service-level monitoring. The application uses real-time planning and execution data from disparate supply-chain systems to calculate a company's perfect order percentage. It deploys a series of rules based on whether customer or store orders were delivered to the intended destination on time, in the right quantity, from the right source, in good condition, with proper documentation and at the expected cost. Beyond that, Perfect Orders analyzes and tracks all areas of the fulfillment cycle, including purchasing, inbound and outbound transportation, labor utilization and inventory throughput, while measuring damage, shrinkage and spoilage. The application can also examine the cost and frequency of expected orders, to help correct fulfillment issues, Blue Sky said.
