Temptime is a provider of time and temperature indicators to the healthcare industry. Together the companies will develop temperature indicators that feature electronic technology, alerting through a digital display if a medical product has been exposed to potentially damaging temperatures. In addition to drawing on Thinfilm’s own technology, the new smart labels will include components provided by several of the company’s partners, including SPT for thermistors, and Acreo for electrochromic displays. In another company announcement, Thinfilm has entered into a commercial distribution agreement with PakSense Inc., a developer of intelligent sensing products for perishable foods. The deal authorizes PakSense to distribute ThinFilm Smart Labels to food suppliers and retailers of produce, meat and seafood in North, South and Central America. In addition, PakSense has submitted pre-orders for the labels, which are scheduled for delivery to major customers in early 2015. PakSense has more than 1,500 customers in some 70 countries.
