LLamasoft, Inc. a vendor of supply-chain network design software, has opened an office in Singapore. The office will support growing market demand in the Asia-Pacific region for supply-chain analysis technology, the company said. The trend has been bolstered by a continued shift toward low-cost country sourcing, according to LLamasoft. At the same time, the company has named Ernest Lim as regional sales director, APAC Operations, to oversee its expansion in the Asian market. He will be responsible for sales and operations throughout the Asia-Pacific region. LLamasoft further announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Planvisage Pte Limited, one of the region's top supply-chain consulting firms. LLamasoft's application for strategic supply-chain planning is known as Supply Chain Guru. It can be used to identify major financial and operational improvements in transportation, inventory, sourcing and production applications.
