Available in four models, the semi-rugged device is suitable for use in sectors such as public safety, government, field service, utilities, insurance and automotive, the company said. The Panasonic Toughbook 54 offers expanded storage capabilities and an upgraded Windows 10 Pro or Windows 7 Professional operating system (the latter available through downgrade rights from Windows 10 Pro). The four model options are Lite, Prime, Gloved Multi Touch and Performance. Each features a magnesium alloy case with resistance to spills and drops. The Toughbook 54 is also available with dual storage drives for expanded storage capacity, or supports RAID mirroring for user applications requiring especially high performance, Panasonic said. The new device also includes enhanced Wi-Fi connectivity.
