National Logistics Management has developed the Tier Nth service, a Web-based, on-demand offering for managing time-critical ground expedite shipments. Customers can use the service to access NLM's network of nearly 200 contracted ground carriers on a pay-as-you-go basis. Tier Nth is an answer to industry calls for demand-driven logistics management, according to NLM president Greg Humes. It incorporates NLM's visibility technology, supplying customers with intelligence on a shipment's progress at each stage in the supply chain. Through Tier Nth, users have access to NLM's logistics specialists stationed in the AllWays On Command center 24 hours a day, seven days a week. NLM manages all software upgrades for Tier Nth. Additional benefits, according to the vendor, include automated shipment awards based on custom criteria, proactive shipment monitoring, online bill of lading and proof of delivery retrieval, and online freight payment.
