The product is intended to help companies implement the technology, business processes, repeatability and discipline required to achieve lean techniques, the vendor said. i2 Lean Lifecycle Management is a planning, scheduling and execution application designed for supply chains that deal with multiple fulfillment modes and diversified product portfolios. It integrates planning and execution by automating key functions as repeatable and standardized processes. Features of the software include pacemaker heijunka scheduling and execution, level production accounting for factory-floor constraints, visual interactive dashboards for problem resolution, "what-if" scenario management for enhanced decision-making, kanban management and execution, and visibility to lean metrics for structured continuous improvements. In a related announcement, i2 has expanded its software offering in the area of sales and operations management. The new tool embeds into existing processes and can be delivered in a hosted mode or as an in-house application. Users can orchestrate the entire sales and operations management process to provide automated collection of data across plans. They can highlight exceptions, manage alerts and generate process-specific reports. And they can track progress across action items and continuous-improvement initiatives.
