Seko Worldwide, a global provider of logistics and supply-chain services, has opened a new facility in Qatar. The office provides import, export and customs brokerage services, covering the entire Qatar Peninsula and surrounding areas. Bordered by the Persian Gulf and Saudi Arabia, it is located near the Doha International Airport and seaport. According to Seko, the Qatar trade zone has evolved into a modern logistics hub, with a number of large-scale real estate projects underway, as well as a substantial amount of investment in technology, education and transportation infrastructure. In addition, the largest development project ever to take place in Qatar, the new town of Lusail, is currently under construction and due for completion in 2010. Seko's Qatar office plans to open a new warehouse facility in the local industrial area, with warehouse-management services available by the end of 2008. Currently the office has a staff of 12.
