Axeda has introduced a new integration application for remote service management, tied to the software of Oracle Corp. Service teams relying on Oracle can avail themselves of Axeda's remote service software to improve operating efficiency, the vendor said. Axeda ServiceLink enhances Oracle Service to deliver real-time monitoring, management and data collection from connected equipment. The combined functionality allows manufacturers to troubleshoot, diagnose and correct product issues remotely. Device notifications automatically trigger service requests through Oracle Service, proactively notifying service technicians when problems arise. In addition, technicians can directly access a customer's device from within a service request to remotely troubleshoot, diagnose and repair issues. The system provides a complete audit trail of all activities performed. Axeda ServiceLink was introduced at Oracle OpenWorld 2008 in San Francisco.
