JDA Software Group, Inc. has released version 7.5 of its JDA Transportation & Logistics Management software. The application is designed to support integrated transportation planning, optimization and execution. It addresses such functions as visibility, shipment execution, contract administration, freight audit and payment, and performance management. The software is built on the JDA Enterprise Architecture platform for multimodal, multi-carrier management. An intelligent user interface helps to minimize training requirements. A decision-support engine dynamically manages light loads by graphically displaying the current utilization of a truck, then making recommendations on how the empty space can best be consumed. Task-driven workflows allow planners to define the scope of their daily job responsibilities by geographic area, transportation mode, customer group and operations type. In addition, automated exception-management capabilities monitor real-time events, proactively generating user alerts to critical issues. The software helps to reduce carrier turndown rates and expediting costs, while improving customer fill rates, according to JDA.
