Agilysys, Inc. has entered into a technology marketing partnership with Vanguard Voice Systems, Inc. Vanguard's AccuSpeech Mobile Voice Platform will be used to voice-enable applications within NextVision, Agilysys' Web-based mobile and wireless software suite for retail operations. Customers will have the option of selecting voice-powered capabilities for data entry, application function commands and navigation capabilities. Agilysys said it chose the Vanguard platform for its ability to quickly and non-invasively add sophisticated voice capabilities to the vendor's retail applications. The deal allows NextVision offerings to deliver complete device-resident voice operations on a variety of mobile devices. The first voice-enabled applications from NextVision to be made available to customers include mobile shelf price verification, inventory management and instant alert notification, offered in the NextCollection and NextManager software packages. The initial applications provide voice-directed capabilities for data collection, application function commands and navigation. Agilysys offers I.T. products to corporate and public-sector customers, with particular expertise in retail and hospitality markets.
