CargoSmart Limited, an application and integration services provider for the ocean container transportation industry, has a new pricing offer for ocean carriers of $2 for each registered shipment managed through its portal. A shipment is equivalent to one bill of lading, including all of its associated containers, says CargoSmart. The industry average is 2.2 containers per B/L.

"We have low operational costs per shipment due to our production scale and we run lean business operations without compromising service quality. Therefore, we can deliver high quality data, reliable solutions, and flexible application and integration services that enable automation, efficiency, and collaboration for customers and carriers, at a very low price point."
CargoSmart provides carriers with a self-service channel in addition to other portals and carriers' own Web sites. "Our participating carriers who serve their customers through our portal, as well as prospective new member carriers, are responding favorably to our pricing offer," Siu says.
