NYK Logistics Americas (NLA) says that it has consolidated seven of its formerly independent transportation, logistics and warehousing firms under its global corporate brand. NLA, a subsidiary of NYK Group, maintains offices and staff around the world and generates annual revenues in excess of $1bn.
"With this consolidation, the focus on the customer will be stronger as we become one single, integrated logistics provider that offers outstanding global capabilities with all the backing of NYK Group's 120-year history and tradition of excellence," says Tom Perdue, executive vice president and COO of NLA. "It also allows our employees to be more effective and efficient regarding the needs of our customers to provide an even higher level of service."
The seven formerly independent companies include: GST Corporation, ETA Logistics, Vexure, NYK Logistics Brazil, International Networks Solutions Division, New-Wave Logistics, and United Warehouse and Distribution Corporation.
In Britain, NYK has consolidated two logistics subsidiaries, NYK Logistics (UK) Consumer & Retail Ltd. and NYK Logistics (UK) Manufacturing & Retail Ltd., under the new name of NYK Logistics (UK) Ltd.
