E-commerce is one bright spot in the current economy, and many companies are looking for ways to boost online sales as offline revenues languish. One trend that's gaining steam is the convergence of e-commerce and CRM applications to maximize "up-sell" and e-marketing opportunities. Online retail sales in the U.S. are projected to reach $156.1bn in 2009, jumping to more than $229.1bn by 2013 and accounting for 8 percent of total U.S. retail sales, according to a recent report by Forrester.
