A. Duie Pyle, a transportation and logistics services provider based in the U.S. Northeast, has opened a newly constructed, rail-sided warehouse in Westfield, Mass. The facility, its second in Westfield, is the company's seventh warehouse operation, bringing to more than 2 million feet its total capacity in the Northeast. Westfield's indoor rail-siding is designed for multiple customers, including a leading U.S. producer of ice melt products. The warehouse consists of 243,000 square feet. Over the past two years, A. Duie Pyle has opened three new facilities in the Northeast, in East Brunswick, N.J.; Johnston, R.I. and Northborough, Mass. Together they represent a $30m expansion program for the company. Earlier this year, Pyle also acquired seven less-than-truckload (LTL) terminals in a purchase-leaseback transaction completed with YRC Corp.
