Samsonite, a world leader in luggage, handbags, backpacks and computer cases, has awarded a multi-year contract to PWC Logistics to control transportation, warehousing and final distribution of products destined to Africa, the Middle East and other regional markets.
Ramesh Tainwala, chief operating officer of Samsonite South Asia, says the agreement is an important shift in logistics strategy for the company. Essa Al-Saleh, PWC Logistics' managing director for business development, says: "Our web-enabled solution provides real-time inventory visibility and control, enabling Samsonite to manage its inventory remotely from offices in India. In addition, by having operations in both Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, we provide Samsonite with end-to-end control of its supply chain."
