Consumers are much more interested in free delivery and lower prices than in the same-day delivery of goods ordered online, according to a survey conducted by The Boston Consulting Group. Only 9 percent of the 1,500 U.S. consumers surveyed cited same-day delivery as a top factor that would improve their online shopping experience, while 74 percent cited free delivery and 50 percent cited lower prices.

The American Trucking Associations' advanced seasonally adjusted for-hire truck tonnage index increased 2.9 percent in January after jumping 2.4 percent in December. Tonnage has surged at least 2.4 percent every month since November, gaining a total of 9.1 percent over that period. As a result, the SA index equaled 125.2 (2000=100) in January versus 121.7 in December. January's index was the highest on record. Compared with January 2012, the SA index was up a robust 6.5 percent the best year-over-year result since December 2011.
United Parcel Service of America (UPS) has formed a partnership with electronic circuit boards manufacturer, Jabil Circuit, to provide reverse logistics services globally. Under the partnership, UPS's logistics and distribution business unit and Jabil's aftermarket services division will provide optimized reverse logistics solutions for return and repair programs to original equipment manufacturers, service providers and enterprises.
