Cathay Pacific Cargo is looking to add to its freighter port network in India. Currently, the airline operates from New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore. It is likely to add Ahmedabad and Hyderabad to its port network in India. Cargo accounts for almost 30 percent of the overall revenue of Cathay Pacific Airways. The airline recently launched freighters directly from Chennai to Frankfurt twice a week, Bangalore to Hong Kong daily and Delhi to Zaragoza as well as to Amsterdam. It also has direct service between India and Spain.

In other action, Emirates Airlines aims to increase freight service in Argentina. With the recent launch of seven weekly flights between Buenos Aires-Rio de Janeiro-Dubai, the airline is focusing on cargo. The new passenger service between Buenos Aires and Dubai has the potential to carry freight and is also able to connect with its three weekly B777F flights between Viracopos, Sao Paulo and Dubai via Frankfurt, providing 620 tons of cargo capacity. Emirates SkyCargo connects with 19 destinations in the Far East and Australia, to which can be added 20 destinations in Africa.

Lufthansa Cargo has launched first-ever flights between Frankfurt and Detroit. The new service will be operated initially with an MD11 freighter every Monday. It will add a Sunday flight at the beginning of the summer season. The flight will return with a stop in New York on the way back to Frankfurt.

China Southern Airlines took delivery of its sixth B777-200F in December 2011, and the plane begins service this month. That will bring the all-cargo fleet to 8 aircraft: two B747-400Fs and six Boeing B777-200Fs. China Southern Airlines plans to build new airport cargo terminals in Quingdao and other domestic cities and increase the cargo transport capacity in Guangzhou. The airline aims to speed up the construction of freight route network with routes at Pudong-Los Angeles-Vancouver-Pudong and Amsterdam-Chongqing-Amsterdam opened. The airline operates six freight routes, with 25 cargo flights to nine airports in shanghai, Guangzhou, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Vienna, Vancouver, Chicago and Los Angeles every week for all-cargo services.

As the carrier with the largest fleet size and the most advanced route network in China, the airline is able to provide belly cargo transport services densely covering the country, radiating to Asia and connecting to major cities in Europe, America, Australia and Africa.
