This winter Lufthansa Cargo will operate its first all-freighter service to Israel. Europe's leading cargo carrier will begin the service to Tel Aviv from its Frankfurt hub. The new service will begin on Oct. 28 with MD-11 aircraft, and will significantly expand Lufthansa Cargo's presence in the Israeli market.
Oman Air is planning to ramp up it airfreight service. The CEO of the sultanate's flagship carrier is planning to turn Muscat into a major cargo transport hub.
LOT Polish Airlines has launched an all-cargo flight between Chicago and Katowice, Poland. According to CEO Marcin Pirog: "Chicago was selected for the all-cargo service because it's the top destination where cargo is transported to and from Poland. Nearly 70 percent of airfreight between Poland and Chicago is transported by LOT." The cargo flight is operated as a wet lease with Cargo Jet twice weekly with a B767-200.
