FedEx's Deep Frozen Shipping Solution, which was launched in January 2011, is a component of the FedEx HealthCare Solutions which provides specialty services to the healthcare industry.

The solution uses a liquid nitrogen dry vapor technology which maintains a temperature of below -150 degrees Celsius for about 10 days using the CryoPort Express Dry Shipper.

Customers will also have an improved ordering interface, powered by CryoPort, to meet their shipping and reporting needs, automated proactive notifications, later cut-off times for order processing as well as additional refurbishing stations in Europe and Asia.

FedEx vice president of market development Carl Asmus said, "These new features provide our healthcare customers with even greater access to some of the latest technology for shipping deep frozen items without dry ice."
