The latest roll out of a manufacturer's best selling point-of-sale product was exhibiting failure in the field due to a problem with a proprietary application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC).  The manufacturer made the decision to order a redesign of this very costly ASIC chip.  However, 20,000 completed units were awaiting distribution and had the potential to fail immediately upon installation.  Renova Technology was able to modify the circuit board design by placing an inexpensive resistor in a very delicate location, and implemented a Field Retrofit Order to create a seed stock of reworked boards.  This proactive support saved the customer in future returns and expedited service costs, while keeping its end users loyal to their brand.
