The company is opening offices in two new locations, Calgary and the Greater Montreal area. The Calgary office is located in the heart of large shale oil reserves, Transplace noted, adding that the facility in Quebec is surrounded by an extensive community of shippers and carriers. In December, 2012, Transplace acquired Torus Freight Systems and its office in Richmond Hill, Ont. The new Canadian offices allow Transplace to expand its presence and continue to specialize in Canadian cross-border and intra-Canada freight, the company said. Transplace is a non-asset provider of transportation services, including intermodal, brokerage and transportation-management system (TMS) applications delivered in a software-as-a-service mode.
