The tool inspects them during transport and validates their performance. Dubbed DBSCHENKERpvchain, the system is intended to provide transparency across the entire transportation route of solar modules, from the manufacturer's plant to end customers. Development and testing lasted more than a year, DB Schenker said, noting that between 5 and 10 percent of all modules are adversely affected by transportation. The new control system inspects quality processes and packaging at the manufacturer's facility, then oversees procedures as the molecules are dispatched. In addition, the modules are continuously monitored during transportation, with spot checks of delivered goods carried out at test laboratories developed by TÜV and located at DB Schenker's incoming-goods warehouses. All DB Schenker containers carrying goods transported from Asia are fitted with special shock and vibration sensors.
