According to the company, the tool will make it easier for commercial rental customers in North America to remain compliant with required interstate fuel-tax reporting documents. They can use their mobile devices to capture an image of their non-Ryder fuel receipt, add details about the fuel purchase location and price, and submit the information to Ryder with the click of a button. Ryder will then match the fuel on required interstate fuel-tax reporting, and store the fuel purchase history in the new app for up to four years. Development of the app follows Ryder’s recent launch of a paperless mobile tablet app for faster rental check-in and checkout, and a rental maintenance mobile app for repairs. Ryder Commercial Rental provides rental trucks on a short-term basis to meet customers’ needs for supplemental capacity.
