Challenge: A distributor of industrial automation products, electronic parts and electro-mechanical components had a manual and unreliable export-compliance process that slowed shipments.
Solution: E2open’s export management platform automated export compliance checks and transactional functions including country controls, restricted party screening, license determination and tracking and document generation and filing.
Results: Prior to implementation, export screening was performed on about 10 percent of outgoing shipments via manual processes. After implementing E2open, the company was able to screen 100 percent of its international shipments and about 90 percent of domestic shipments.
The company also cut fulfillment time from three days to one — improving customer service, saving hours of DC-floor labor and allowing for headcount re-allocation to handle increased volumes of shipments.
