Syspro, a vendor of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for mid-market manufacturing and distribution companies, has embedded its application within the Microsoft Office system user interface. Under the name of Syspro Office Integration, the new screen interface allows users to drill into the appropriate Syspro database to access and move information, perform analyses, make decisions and take actions in line with operational and reporting needs. Users get access to Syspro ERP applications via Microsoft Office Word, Office Excel and Office Outlook. Syspro offers both a Web services and client/server option, including new connectivity via UNIX application servers. Syspro Office Integration draws on both Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Office and the Syspro business objects. It can be configured by role in out-of-the-box templates. The project provides security rules and offers full customization capabilities for personalized data view and access.
