The tools are aimed at engineering and sourcing professionals in discrete manufacturing companies. Endeca's Design for Supply product gives design engineers complete visibility into integrated part and supplier information. It aids in the selection of parts that align with sourcing, compliance and other corporate objectives. The vendor's Spend Analysis software gives sourcing professionals real-time access and analysis of disparate sourcing, parts and supplier information. In the process, they can identify opportunities for reducing direct-materials spend, through the consolidation of suppliers and negotiation of preferred contracts. Both product introductions are part of an effort by Endeca to provide new information-visibility tools to aerospace and defense, automotive, high-tech and industrial manufacturers. Each features a customizable, Web-based user format, which integrates Endeca's capabilities in search, business intelligence, Guided Navigation and Guided Summarization. The vendor's manufacturing applications are built on Endeca's MDEX Engine technology, allowing for the aggregation, querying and analysis of data from systems related to product lifecycle management, spend management, and supplier relationship management product catalogs.
