Infor has updated Infor ERP LN, the vendor's enterprise resource planning software for discrete manufacturers. The tool integrates key business functions in a multi-language, open-systems platform. Feature Pack 5 features new functionality for advanced supply-chain collaboration and improved assembly planning and control. The system also supports improved business practices for vendor-managed inventory, advanced subcontracting, customer management and services in support of the aftermarket. Many of the enhancements arose from customer requests, Infor said. According to the company, the additions allow for greater visibility of transactions across the organization. Infor ERP LN is built on a service-oriented architecture through Inform Open SOA. Enhancements specific to the automotive and aerospace industries include assembly line sequencing, use of assembly-line rules and constraints to generate optimized sequencing of orders. The software also enables option-based pricing, improved warehouse control of finished goods and better assembly cost control, Infor said.
