Amazon is now offering one-hour and three-hour delivery options for customers across the U.S.
According to a March 17 release from the company, one-hour delivery is available in hundreds of cities and towns for an additional $9.99 fee for Prime members, and $19.99 for non-members. Three-hour delivery is available in more than 2,000 cities, with a cost of $4.99 for Prime members and $14.99 for non-members.
“Our customers are busier than ever and are looking for new ways to save time while keeping their households running," Amazon senior VP Udit Madan said. "We saw an opportunity to use our unique operational expertise and delivery network to help make customers’ lives a little easier while unlocking even more value for Prime members."

The new delivery options are available for more than 90,000 eligible products, including cleaning supplies, over-the-counter medications, paper products and health and beauty items. The service started with small-scale pilot programs in late 2025, before expanding to more cities this year. Amazon also tested out same-day fresh grocery deliveries in 2024, as the company has focused on ways to speed up its fulfillment offerings across its logistics networks.
Delivery speed has become increasingly important in e-commerce, but it has its limits. In India, the government recently called on all of its e-commerce platforms to drop a "10-minute delivery" promise, following nationwide strikes by delivery drivers. While the service was reportedly popular with customers, gig workers criticized the offering for creating dangerous working conditions despite relatively low wages.
