Lawson Software has made available two new analytics applications to help manufacturers and distributors improve their decision-making and generate cost savings. Lawson M3 Analytics focuses on four business areas: sales, finance, procurement and warehousing/logistics. M3 Analytics for Manufacturing offers additional analytical capabilities specific to that sector, targeting production and order costing. According to Lawson, both tools help companies to simplify the deployment of business-intelligence tools without having to develop analytics applications in-house. The software includes more than 70 pre-configured key performance indicators (KPIs) and 50 pre-built scorecard reports commonly used by manufacturers and distributors. Sample KPIs include day sales outstanding, inventory turnover, delivery performance and gross-margin percentage. Scorecards highlight such data as sales versus budget, supplier performance, production variances and customer debt. Lawson also recently introduced M3 Analytics for Food and Beverage.
