Becton, Dickinson and Company is the 2010 recipient of Aberdeen Group's annual industry achievement award for excellence in supply chain management. Aberdeen announced the award last month at its annual Supply Chain Management Summit, in San Francisco.
Becton, Dickinson (BD) and was chosen from a list of companies nominated based on proprietary Aberdeen research covering supply chain process excellence, executive stewardship, business evolution, innovation in technology and performance excellence.
"The BD Global Supply Chain Team is very pleased to accept this award," said Larry P. Smith, vice president, global supply chain at BD. "We work very hard at BD to make sure that our integrated supply chain provides a competitive advantage to BD in the markets that we serve. However, the job is never done and we will continue our strategy of driving continuous improvement in all our global supply chain initiatives and performance."
Summit award nominees included Belkin International; Black & Decker's Hardware and Home Improvement Group; Herbalife; Linksys -- a division of Cisco; Volvo Construction Equipment; and Zappos.com.
