They can discern trends in peak shopping hours, traffic patterns, sales conversion ratios, sales per staff member, and department and advertising effectiveness. The technology can help to shape merchandising strategies, enhance labor planning and drive higher shopper conversions and sales, according to Tyco. The vendor's suite of applications includes electronic article surveillance, item visibility and intelligence, point-of-sale data analytics, video surveillance, video image analysis, and intrusion and fire-monitoring systems.
