Honeywell Scanning & Mobility has introduced the Dolphin 6000 Scanphone, a new device which links consumer mobile phones with industrial mobile computers and barcode scanners. The product allows mobile information workers to connect, collect and communicate at the point of customer service. It automates the data-collection process and provides real-time access to business information. In addition to basic mobile phone functionality, the Dolphin 6000 offers features in support of field service, field sales and retail and logistics operations. An integrated scanner allows for accurate barcode scanning for the simplification of data entry. Honeywell's device-management software, Remote MasterMind for Mobility, lets users manage, update and remotely diagnose all Dolphin 6000 devices within a network from a centralized location. Using the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional operating system, the new device was designed for easy integration with other software applications, such as Pocket Inventory from independent software vendor pcAmerica. Resistant to moisture and particle intrusion, the Dolphin 6000 features an integrated megapixel camera and is optimized for voice communication.
