Vormittag Associates Inc. (VAI), provider of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, has upgraded its S2K Enterprise application suite with a suggested purchasing module. The tool allows businesses to improve inventory management, maintain a better product mix, reduce inventory costs and manage workflow, the vendor claimed. The new purchasing module of S2K 5.0.3 provides a more accurate view of product use, seasonality, trending and functionality, by consolidating three ordering formulas into a central dashboard. Buyers can view min-max planning, end-of-quarter ordering and vendor target formulas. They can also manipulate those formulas and conduct "what-if" calculations to determine the optimal solution. Companies with multiple locations can use the dashboard to review stock status and transfer inventory. The upgraded version of S2K also estimates carrying costs, to help determine the best possible buy. VAI is an IBM Premier Business Partner with a focus on the mid-range market.
