Wavelink Corp. has made available an update of its Wavelink Avalanche SecurePlus application. Version 1.1 provides advanced user authentication and security for mobile devices. Administrators can grant and restrict access to the device, applications and data, regardless of whether or not the device is connected to the network. SecurePlus controls device and network access through an authenticated login. Policies can be enforced for login when the device is powered on after a specified period of inactivity. Using automated lock-down features, client-side intelligence protects the device against unauthorized use even when it is not connected to the network. In addition, administrators can remotely access a device when it is not in use, and can generate a secure unlock code should users forget their user name or password. New features in SecurePlus 1.1 include automated migration from CE Secure, an encryption update to 3DES, and wider range of client operating-system support.
