Wavelink Corp. has developed Avalanche Managed Services, allowing customers to draw on the mobile-device management capabilities of Wavelink Avalanche without relying on internal information-technology staff. According to the vendor, the new offering supplies a Wavelink expert for the setup, monitoring and day-to-day administration of wireless systems. Using the Avalanche console, Wavelink will remotely manage a subscriber's mobile devices, including security configurations, software packages and other operational settings. Avalanche Managed Services aims to boost the productivity of mobile workers, increase security and reduce the cost of owning and managing mobile devices. It offers implementation, provisioning, scheduled updates for devices, help-desk support, scheduled reports and performance statistics. It also provides security features such as digital certificates and authenticated logins. Avalanche continues to support devices from a wide range of manufacturers, the vendor said.
