Aramex International has completed the acquisition of Berco Express (Pty) Ltd., a logistics and transportation service provider based in South Africa. Established in 1992, Berco Express has evolved from a pure courier company into a full-service logistics provider. It operates 15 branches throughout South Africa, employing more than 700 people. Aramex, a logistics service provider headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, employs more than 9,000 and operates in 313 locations in 56 countries. Its services include international and domestic express delivery, freight forwarding, secure records and information management, and electronic commerce support. The acquisition of Berco Express follows Aramex's launching of a joint venture in the Chinese market with SinoAir, and the acquisition of OneWorld Courier and In-Time Couriers in Kenya. Aramex said it intends to expand across Southern Africa with the opening of additional offices and warehouses.
