Albacor has locations across North America, Europe and Russia. It set up operations in Canada and the U.S. in 1998, expanding to Europe in 2003 and, most recently, to Russia, where it acquired eight operating locations. BNSF Logistics president Ray Greer said the move expands the company's North American presence while making possible its first foray into new foreign markets on behalf of North American clients. BNSF Logistics is targeting companies in the mining, civil engineering, oil and gas, renewable energy and power-generation industries. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Burlington Northern Santa Fe LLC, a Berkshire Hathaway company.
