The new readers feature a compact form factor along with the same proprietary barcode-reading technology, visualization for performance feedback, and solid-state design found on Cognex's premium readers. According to the company, the DataMan 50/60 series of barcode readers are available at a price equivalent to that of existing laser-scanner products. The new models include the DataMan 50/60L, for the reading of 1D-oriented barcodes (either ladder or picket fence); 50/60QL, for reading of 1D omni-directional barcodes, and 50/60S, for reading 1D omni-directional barcodes or 2D matrix codes.
