The program, delivered in partnership with OnAsset Intelligence, allows shippers, freight forwarders and couriers to work directly with American Airlines Cargo to add a tracking device to a shipment and monitor the package from point of origin to destination.
The tracking device, which monitors temperature, pressure, shock, location and vibration, was added to U.S. domestic and international shipments on American and is available for use with all of American's products: Expedite, Confirmed and PPS. The carrier says it is ideal for customers shipping time-critical, high-value and temperature-sensitive cargo.
Roger Samways, managing director, cargo sales at AAC, said, "This program will be a great addition to our services, giving customers real-time visibility into their shipments. This visibility provides customers with on-demand knowledge of supply chain events, speeds response time and improves transit knowledge from airport-to-airport."
