According to the company, the new service provides customers with a faster and more cost-effective forwarding option. It includes both customs clearance and collection. From Semarang, freight can be forwarded by air worldwide via Jakarta, Denpasar, Singapore or other airports. The company also announced the launch of its own air import operation at Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport in Jakarta. The new operation allows Yusen to offer end-to-end import services, from arrival at the airport to delivery to the customer. Services include enhanced visibility and transport-management controls, including freight-status tracking at an airport bonded area, customs clearance and supervised vehicle loading. Yusen said the service was developed mainly to improve support for urgent deliveries. Located nine miles southeast of Central Jakarta, Halim Airport is close to the East Jakarta Industrial Zone.
